Tammy Samples
Executive Director of Child Welfare
Tammy Samples serves as the Executive Director of Child Welfare at ICCS, where she oversees child and youth programming with a focus on safety, healing, and empowerment. Tammy joined ICCS as a Crisis Counselor through the CCBYS program in Southern Illinois and has built her career supporting youth and families across the region in both community-based and clinical settings. Her background includes roles as an outpatient therapist with Spero Family Services, a family services counselor with Centerstone of Illinois, and a chapter coordinator with Safe Families for Children, along with leadership experience in AmeriCorps and CASA. Tammy holds a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology from Northcentral University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Columbia College. She is trained in trauma-informed therapeutic approaches including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, brainspotting, and child-centered play therapy. Tammy is also a licensed foster parent and dedicated community volunteer, bringing both professional expertise and lived compassion to her work with youth and families.
