Working with the public in many areas, Carlee is passionate and outspoken about violence prevention and human rights issues. She has an extensive service background as a public speaker, advocate, and volunteer. Before coming back to work with ICCS, Carlee served as the Prevention Educator with The Women’s Center in Carbondale spreading awareness about human trafficking, child abuse, violence awareness and prevention, healthy relationships, social emotional skills, compassion, empathy, and empowerment throughout Southern Illinois. In 2013, she earned a K-12, professional educator license through the State of Illinois. Carlee was both an instructor of record and co-teacher with senior lecturers in the Department of Linguistics and the Center for English as a Second Language, as she earned a master's degree in 2014 at Southern Illinois University's Carbondale campus. Carlee also holds a bachelor’s degree and four minors from SIUC. She has over a decade of classroom experience including teaching, researching, mentoring, and counseling students of all ages and a variety of linguistic backgrounds. In addition to her work with ICCS, Carlee serves on her local school board.
