ICCS continues it’s growth throughout Illinois. We have now expanded our CYSS services to cover more communities in need throughout the state. Of the estimated 2,500 unduplicated youth we serve, the majority come from poverty-stricken areas throughout Illinois. Youth end up on the street for multiple reasons: family poverty, violence, mental and physical illness in their families, unemployment, domestic violence, and sexual abuse are just some of the contributing factors. Other youth simply find themselves abandoned by their parents.
Youth are forced to be independent on average a full decade before their housed peers.
Everyone has a dream. For a troubled youth, that dream simply may be to have a safe, warm place to sleep. Or it may be to find a job. Others want to go to college, knowing it is their best shot at long-term change. ICCS is committed to making these dreams a reality.
ICCS provides youth with the hope, confidence, and skills necessary to build stable lives. We treat our youth with respect and believe in them. They can and do turn their lives around and with this expansion…now even more will feel the positive impact!
